Morocco Solar Eclipse Trek | July 2027

The word ‘unique’ is used far too often, but in this case, it’s entirely true! Celebrate the 21st century’s longest land-based solar eclipse with a special, one-off Morocco Solar Eclipse Trek.

Departing on 30th July 2027, trek the Rif Mountains in Morocco to witness the solar eclipse that will pass southern Spain, North Africa and the Middle East from the summit of Jebel Lakraan, standing at 2,159 metres above sea level. With local Berbers guiding you, you’ll be sure to create memories to last a lifetime.

Challenge Highlights:

  • Witness the solar eclipse from the summit of Jebel Lakraan, with stunning views over the mountains towards the Mediterranean.

  • Trek through the valleys and villages of the beautiful Rif Mountains.

  • Spend a night in the blue washed town of Chefchaouen.

  • Explore the Souks, the Kasbah and the Socco areas of Tangier.

The funds you raise during your sponsored challenge will reduce school absence and improve long-term outcomes for children, leading to better opportunities for a future free from poverty. Donations from your supporters make a big collective difference: 

  • £12 provides a girl in Tanzania with reusable sanitary towels and access to social education forums so she won't miss one week in four of her schooling; 

  • £20 covers the cost of a care pack for an orphaned family in Zimbabwe so they children concentrate on learning rather than working;

  • £90 pays for a mug of porridge for 1,000 children in Kenya, reducing the need for working, scavenging or begging for food;

  • £250 supports a social worker in Uganda, to resettle a child rescued from the streets with a family.
