The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2022
One Donation, Twice the Impact
For the first time, African Children’s Fund is taking part in The Big Give 2022 Christmas Challenge! Every donation made to our special Porridge Clubs link from 29th November – 6th December will be doubled, up to £4,000. This means we could raise a huge £8,000 during that single week.
School Porridge Clubs in Kenya alleviate absenteeism caused by food poverty. When children come to school without breakfast, they resort to scavenging for food instead of going to school. If we reach our target, your donations will help 2,000 children attend school for 3 months thanks to a daily mug of nutritious porridge. At just 9p per mug of porridge, this equates to almost 90,000 mugs of porridge!
Brenda is now an Advocate at the High Court of Kenya in Nairobi, but started life in Thika where she was an early recipient of porridge at school. She credits the Porridge Clubs with giving her opportunities to follow her dreams:
“I learnt through this project that a little support goes a long way. Supporting people gives them hope, where there is hope, people can dream, and when people freely dream, they get vision and purpose which gives them a chance to be something.”

If you are able to donate £9, the Big Give Christmas Challenge match funding means your donation will be doubled to £18 and you will contribute 200 mugs of porridge.
If you are able to donate £40, the Big Give Christmas Challenge match funding means your donation will be doubled to £80 and you will contribute 900 mugs of porridge.
