A Half Marathon with a difference! Set your 2026 off to the right start by heading to the Hackney Half start line on Sunday 17th May. The Hackney Half is the pinnacle of an unforgettable weekend of movement, sport and entertainment. Expect pure vibrancy as the borough comes alive for a weekend of celebration!
Take on 13.1 miles in East London, with vibrant street art, live music, and unforgettable crowd support cheering you every step of the way. Handmade banners, high fives, and more jelly babies than you can count… Hackney Half has it all!
Whether you’re an experienced runner or a novice looking for a new challenge, we would love you to represent Team ACF on the streets of Hackney next May.

£50 registration fee + £250 minimum sponsorship
Of course, your fundraising target isn’t your fundraising ceiling! Remember, for every £9 your page raises over your target, you could provide 100 mugs of porridge to help Kenyan children go to school.
why run FOR aFRICAN CHILDREN’S fUND?
The funds you raise from the Hackney Half will reduce school absence and improve long-term outcomes for children in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe, leading to better opportunities for a future free from poverty. Donations from your supporters make a big collective difference. This is where you come in:
£12 provides a girl in Tanzania with reusable sanitary towels and access to social education forums so she won't miss one week in four of her schooling;
£20 covers the cost of a care pack for an orphaned family in Zimbabwe so they children concentrate on learning rather than working;
£90 pays for a mug of porridge for 1,000 children in Kenya, reducing the need for working, scavenging or begging for food;
£250 supports a social worker in Uganda, to resettle a child rescued from the streets with a family.
