Virgin Money London Marathon 2021

We are incredibly excited to confirm we have been allocated two places in the 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon. One of the two will be filled by our fundraiser Bryan Lown, who should have been running in the cancelled 2020 event. However, we would love YOU to represent #TeamACF and fill our second place on Sunday 3rd October!

One lucky runner will join 40,000 others on the 2021 London Marathon start line at either Blackheath or Greenwich Park before passing the Cutty Sark, Isle of Dogs and Canary Wharf before joining The Embankment and completing the 26.2 mile course on The Mall outside Buckingham Palace.

We will provide our lucky fundraiser with an African Children’s Fund technical t-shirt as well as full support in creating your fundraising page. We’ll also send you fundraising and training tips and hints along the way! In return, we ask you to aim to raise a minimum of £1,500 in sponsorship so we can continue making a difference to children born into poverty.

Brenda is an Advocate at the High Court of Kenya and as a youngster, she benefited from our Kenyan Porridge Clubs programme. She tells us:

I learnt through this project that a little support goes a long way. Supporting people gives them hope, where there is hope, people can dream, and when people freely dream, they get vision and purpose which gives them a chance to be something.
— Brenda, former Porridge Club recipient
