Small Charity Week 2026 | Double Your Donation
We're excited to confirm the 2026 Small Charity Week Big Give campaign is now LIVE. Between now and 5pm on Monday 29th June, all donations made to our special Big Give page will be DOUBLED until we reach our target.
During this special seven days, we are aiming to raise £5,000 to improve Child Protection services in and around Kampala, supported by our wonderful partner, SAFE Uganda.
The first £2,500 donated on our dedicated fundraising page between before 5pm on 29th June will be doubled by our generous match funders, the People's Postcode Lottery, until we reach our £5,000 target.
SAFE Uganda is determined to reduce the number of children abandoned on the city’s streets where they face abuse, trafficking and exploitation. Their work strengthens community support systems and improves child safeguarding and wellbeing.
SAFE runs a social worker-led temporary home, Nsimbe, where up to 20 children at a time reside in a conducive, family atmosphere. Where possible, they aim to reunite children with their families within 6 months of arrival, with schooling provided throughout, and post-reunification monitoring and support. Furthermore, SAFE runs a series of child protection awareness forums in communities, promoting good safeguarding practices so children are less likely to be abused or coerced on to the streets.
If we reach our £5,000 target, your donations will:
Support 20 children at the Nsimbe Safe House for four months, caring for their emotional, physical and educational needs until they are ready to return to a secure family or foster home.
Run a monthly, weekend 'SAFE Hub' for 30 children at the Nsimbe Safe House and from within the neighbouring community, to encourage children to become advocates for children's rights while integrating play and skills-based activities.
Run one children's rights community awareness forum - for over 100 adults and children - with the dual purpose of equipping children with safety advice, and providing caregivers with information about protecting their children.
